Did you catch Part 1 yet
with decor inspiration from
designer Natalie Haegeman?
I'm a huge fan of Belgian style because it
embodies so many of the sensibilities I value.
Books by Axel Vervoordt have inspired and informed
me, and do turn to Greet of Belgian Pearls to
learn firsthand about this design style.
Defining characteristics
of Flemish interiors
often encompass:
A neutral color palette
Raw, unfinished woods
Oak for furniture and paneling
Parquet, natural stone, terracotta tiles or
brick for flooring
Lime paint for walls
Linen upholstery and curtains
Timeless design and decor
Lots of texture
Antique furniture
Slipcovers and loose fabrics
Belgian style decor prizes pared down,
rustic elegance, with a simplicity and cozy atmosphere.
Color is often used to set the mood and create interest.
Natural materials including linen, sisal,
and weathered wood are layered with aged
metals for depth, and upholstered furniture
is cozy, simple, and soft.
Let's tour more of Natalie Haegeman's
beautiful designs!

Thank you for the introduction to this incredibly talented woman! I am in love with every room but the first photo is my favorite, that sink cabinet is gorgeous.
