Can you believe it has been 6 months since
we bought this crazy quirky cottage to reno?
We have made progress on the main floor,
and I'm getting closer to adding decor.
The kitchen is functional, and I actually unpacked
some boxes a couple days back and put things inside
the cabinets! Remember how it looked after demo?

You can't really see the harvest table I refinished white
in this shot, and the dining area is still a blank slate
waiting for window treatments and art.
before
We really didn't need to outfit a formal dining room
so at the moment it is functioning as a little library/
breakfast room...I still have to style the shelves.
You may remember we widened the opening between
the kitchen and dining room and added vintage French doors.

I will be adding some rugs, window treatments,
and art but the living room will stay pretty minimal.
We had family over for dinner Christmas Eve
despite the lingering chaos, and it was our first
holiday without our Bella Luna, who I miss everyday.

I'm sure the lamps will be changed out on the sideboard,
and I will probably create art for this 2-story wall
above it (we bought this huge 1930's Belgian
piece 10 years ago and finally found a spot for it!).

but the new one looks much better.
I left the black granite, removed
the glass doors, and still need to
paint the interior black.
Lots of projects left, but the house is very live-able now!
We took the master bath down to the studs, and my
husband is presently constructing a brand new bath.
Then we'll tackle the master bedroom, my studio,
lower level family room, lower level guest bedroom,
and maybe a new bathroom in the lower level.
When summer comes, we intend to address the
landscape and build a storage shed.
Thank you for following along, and
I will keep you posted as the decor comes together!
