chignons, sofia, and gratitude
October 10, 2012Isn't she da da dazzling?
I found her this afternoon
while surfing the net for the perfect
chignon and practicing the style
in hopes I can wear a pretty one in Paris.
2.5 days, ladies and gents.
That glorious red mane reminded me of my
gorgeous niece Sofia who borrowed my
Go Ask Alice mini dress for this shoot
I did of her in Arizona a few weeks back.
Sofi is 50% Italian with a luxurious flaming
head of hair and a special talent for modeling.
Doesn't this have an old world feel?
If I could paint such beauty, I would.
For now I will stick to abstracts.
Monika of Splendid Willow lovely
shared this painting by me
she recently framed, and seeing her post
warmed my heart and awakened my senses
once again to the beauty of white.
This is another piece by me on her spicy wall.
Merci, Mon.
(This friend and Ewa have been super busy with
their fabulous shop offering a giveaway not to be missed!)
And what a sweet sweet send-off
Jeanne of I Dream Of dreamed up
in her post about Paris--what a kind
au revoir, you lovely blogger.
Jeanne's illustration.
And a very special thank you to my friend
Debra of Acquired Objects who felt
compelled to gift me with
something she knows I
adore...
You shouldn't have, Deb!
I am so glad you did though!
They are huge and the most beautiful
mahoganywonderful ones you have ever seen.
I love them on our mantel with this old
French bread board and some new
wooden candlesticks.
I am humbled by so much generosity,
and I appreciate every single one of
you who reads me.
*a virtual double air kiss + a caramel macaron*
Peace to you right where you are.

What an adorable little girl, her hair is goregous too. I love your painting, and though I have never personally done a chignon I do think they are very elegant.
