Lovely Finds: Holiday Gift Ideas from Etsy
December 07, 2012my humble clay tags resembling marshmallows (2011)
How is the holiday shopping coming?
Got shopper's shoulder?
Look no further, fatigued brethren.
* * *
Some of my favorite gifts to give
(and receive) are personalized ones,
and I wanted to share three
fun ideas
in hopes you will give
these shops
a click.
I discovered artist Stacey's cool custom
stamps last year when she created
a few for my clay tag project.
(Her specialty is custom Ex Libris Book Plate rubber stamps,
and she has the largest selection of customizable bookplate
designs in the world.)
Stacey has launched a new shop
Red Heel Revue
where her beloved sock monkeys
are the main attraction.
Stacey will work with you on artwork
and font choice and typically can
have a proof to you in 3-4 days.
GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED.
I get so many compliments on
my calling cards created by
Pixelimpress,
and I am always impressed with the
quality and value this shop delivers.
Who wouldn't love receiving such
stylish cards????
Shop owner Pamela says:
"Personalized gifts let the recipient know the gift was made exclusively for them. and, in my experience, it's usually a unique or special item that they wouldn't necessarily buy for themselves but they're tickled to receive."
Pixelimpress offers other paper goods as well
such as these delicious holiday tags...want!
I love my collection of heart stones
from Israel's Med Beach Stones, and they
can easily be customized by you or
owner Ravit.
So special!
The stones are one-size-fits-all
and guaranteed to bring smiles.
I hope you will visit these lovely shops
to see even more options.
GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED.
WINNER HAS BEEN CONTACTED...CONGRATULATIONS!
THANK YOU FOR ENTERING!
Peace to you right where you are.
Hello Lovely at times partners
with companies I love and think may interest you.

Hi Michele! Thanks for letting me know about the giveaway. I like all of these artists you featured. I could always use a stamp for more crafting and would love to win.
ReplyDeleteA favorite gift idea ... one of the best gifts I gave my parents was to scan old photos of the family. I created a book online and had it printed and presented it to them at their 60th anniversary. It made my dad cry ... in a good way.
ReplyDeleteA gift idea I'm thinking about right now is the Med Beach Stones. I know my daughter would love those.
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog. I love these hearts.
ReplyDeleteA favorite gift idea are American Girl Dolls for my granddaughters. I am very frugal so this is out of the norm. But Grammy buys one baby doll and one grownup one for the girls.
ReplyDeleteAnother favorite gift idea is making something out of photos taken during the year....a scrapbook, mug, canvas, and etc.
ReplyDeleteAnother gift idea.......a marshmallow shooter for my grandson.
ReplyDeleteThose paintings are AMAZING! I would LOVE to have one for my home.
ReplyDeleteGift idea #1: Something monogrammed (for a girl, of course). They can be inexpensive gifts that are still more personal that giving a gift card.
Gift idea #2: Some type of care package. My best friend is finishing her first semester of law school, and sending a care package for breaks in between studying means a lot!
ReplyDeleteGift idea #3: An engraved picture frame.. my bf lost his mother a few years ago to brain cancer, so I had a Pottery Barn silver frame engraved with her name and a quote and put a photo of her in it.
ReplyDeleteI love to give coasters. They're useful and can be quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for letting me know about this giveaway! I really love those heart-shaped rocks, how special!
ReplyDeleteA Gift Idea that I am using this year: My mother collects nativities. She literally has over 100 nativities on every flat surface of our house. What she doesn't have, though, is one that was handmade from her favorite daughter :)
I have settled on this one, and I am so excited to make it!

(she has it as a giveaway, but I am going to make it)
thank you so much to let me know about your giveaway, but unfortunatel, I'm French and living in PARIS !!
ReplyDeleteI love to offer one my cat's painting (I'm a cat painter)

Hi Michele! Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Great post today...especially the custom stamps! I love the idea of having a "family" stamp to seal Christmas cards envelopes, stamp salt dough ornaments, or even to stamp plain butcher paper and use as Christmas wrapping paper! As for my favorite gift idea, well I just posted this last night: http://www.seraphimhome.com/2012/12/using-pretty-liquor-bottles-as-vases.html. Pretty liquor bottles are the perfect gift for the design obsessed like us...we can use them to decorate after they're empty!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite gifts to give are something sentimental. I always try to find something for my mom and aunt that will remind them of their hometown or child hood.
these would indeed be lovely gifts! my favorites are the heart shaped rocks - lots of ways to use those...
ReplyDeleteI love the custom stamp and the heart stones. A few years back while on a canoe trip, my daughter found a large heart-shaped stone and I've been on the look out for more ever since.
ReplyDeleteWhat thoughtful, lovely and unusual gifts, Michele! Love the heart shaped stones as we collect quite a few on the beaches of Cape Cod every summer. Thanks for stopping by The Buzz to read Tina's post today. Happy weekend!

Thanks for the invitation to your blog ... love the jeans and ballet slippers! Fav gift is baskets full of movies, games, treats, books, etc ... all personalized to the one receiving the gift ... they are always bound to like something they find inside, right?
ReplyDeleteHere's a great idea for close friends ... through the year as you shop with them, (for me that is usually junking), there are always items they almost buy themselves, but maybe its a bit too much money, or they already got themselves something ... just sneak back and buy it, label it, store it and surprise!!
ReplyDeleteHi Michele! What a nice giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove the calling cards!
So much fun Michele, and so inspiring to see all the creativity our there from these shop owners. I collect heart-shaped stones - I found the first one the day before I met my husband- so these have a special place in my heart. Happy Weekend, dear! XO

Hi Michele - Thanks for stopping by my blog and letting me know about the giveaway. I'm a new follower of this beautiful blog!
ReplyDeleteA new gift idea I have is to find beautiful bowls/containers (milk glass, silver, ironstone) and give them to friends/hostess of party with several paperwhite bulbs planted.
I would love to win the calling cards! Well, any of these really.
The sock monkey art at red heels is fabulous. I still have the sock monkey from when I was a little girl and I am a grandmother. I love all of their products.

for my next entry.....another gift idea is more specific to the little ones in my life. my son and nephews (we have a lot of boys in this family) love art projects at this point and I think it would be great to purchase all the items for a specific project, print up some pretty instructions, and place it all in a fun little container for the next rainy/snowy day at home.
ReplyDeleteA message in stone is creative, original and represents that simple act of finding and saving a small rock, or large, remembrance from a walk in the forest or at the beach. Their designs are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteKristin
rockymountainbirder at gmail dot com
for the very busy moms that are in my life right now, i think it is nice to put together a meal that freezes well that mom can just grab out of the freezer and throw into a crock pot.

ReplyDeleteA gift for a small child is a gift bag full of art supplies (markers, stickers, beads, glue sticks, paper, tape, etc.) Rhonda
ReplyDeleteI went to IkEA tonight, and my daughter spotted a set of four forks, spoons, and knives with pretty pale green handles. I'm not sure they will last long. They were only 5.99. But she wants me to wrap them up for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteFor the music lover they had plates with the music staff for about 4.00 each.

ReplyDeleteAnd another thing I like to give all year long is just a snail mail card to someone for no reason at all.....just a sweet little something in the mailbox to let them know I am thinking of them. xo
ReplyDeleteI love giving gifts that have a reason behind them and will be used throughout the year. Because my mother has Alzheimer's and is always cold, I'm giving her a nice warm cardigan with a floral scarf for Christmas. I know they will both get alot of use all year long. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo laurie
My favorite gift I received was from my husband. He commissioned a local artist to create a water color painting that pictured all of my dogs (past and present) running ahead of my husband and I as we walked along a wintery streambed. That's where "Heaven's Walk" was born.
ReplyDeletexoxo laurie
I've got to tell you that those sweet stone hearts just captured my soul, Michele! This is such a wonderful giveaway. Thank you for being so generous and thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteI love to drop small gifts (homemade salsa or pickels) off to people who aren't expecting it. In fact, one year, my husband and I filled a big vintage basket full of apples, squash, and some of our homemade canned goods, and left it at the doorstep of a local family who we knew were struggling. They had no idea it came from us. That was the best part..... ♥
xoxo laurie
I'm clicking ALL of them. Thanks for sharing :)
