BRCA Update & Belgian Linen Decor Inspiration
April 01, 2013This is our living room sofa (above).
I love the Belgian style
and linen slipcover.
At 8 feet long,
it's easy to get
comfy even with
multiple loungers
lounging.
We upgraded the coffee table
(a DIY temp)
so I'll share pics later.

A couple more examples of handsome
Belgian sofas that sizzle my bacon.

Do we love Brooke's woolly pup retiring
and that sea fan in a bottle?
As they say in Belgium,
YESSIR WE DO!
Finished painting 2.5 rooms and millwork!! Saved $1,700!
BRCA2 update:
My first step toward fighting
breast and ovarian cancer
begins tomorrow with
hysterectomy and oophorectomy.
To learn more about the diagnosis,
see my sister's blog here.
Hoping no cancer will be detected
in my labs and MRI so I'm able
to soon have the prophylactic
mastectomy and reconstruction
I require...
I know, I know, a jagged notsolittle pill,
but it must be swallowed.
Though there will be
discomfort,
there is also
light and triumph
over cancer
ahead.
Squint hard. Can you see it?
Peace to you right where you are.
p.s.
My mom (stage 3 breast cancer)
is in a lot of pain
and has unspeakable
side effects from
her chemo
but she
battles on!
Her suffering has led
to events preventing
her daughters from
a similar fate.

ReplyDeleteMan, it's hard to think about you going through all this... You're so brave, and such a warrior to kick that BRCA's ass by taking away it's chance to hurt you. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow...

ReplyDeleteTake comfort and joy in those around you, sit back on your comfy sofa and accept strength from the prayers and love of those in your life, though you may never see them. We are with you, you are on our thoughts and in our hearts, you and your sister and mother, children, spouse, father, everyone in fact. You are brave, incredibly so very brave. Patty/BC
ReplyDeleteOh sweet Michele....I just returned from vacation and was catching up on my favorite blog friends' posts. My heart broke as I read your words. Please know, treasured friend, that you will be in my prayers as you continue on this journey. May God guide the surgeon's hands, and give you a quick and painless recovery. Sending you a special hug wrapped in much love, pretty girl. ♥
