Artist Inspiration: Encaustic Paintings {Betsy Eby}
June 04, 2013I love the work of Betsy Eby so much.
The artist creates these ethereal encaustic
paintings that speak to my soul.
I interviewed her here.
A classical trained pianist,
her abstract art has a lyrical quality.
I was soooooo hoping to meet the artist
at a recent exhibition at Winston Wachter
in Seattle,
but my current BRCA2 journey
made that impossible.
So I'll shoot for the next one, and in the
mean time, we can enjoy these images
of her work displayed in various settings.

Michele, amazing. I love encaustic work and have always wanted to learn how to create the wax technique! Classes Betsy? These are so ethereal and mystical. Fun to be married to an artist doing great works of art as well!

Michele...her work is gorgeous....how are you feeling? I'm praying for you!
ReplyDeleteHello Michele - Oh, how I wish you could have made it out for Betsy Eby at Winston Wachter!!! I was there! She is by far one of my favorite artists working today. I actually saved my pennies and bought one of her works a couple years ago and it hangs with pride of place behind our dining room table, and is almost like a extra guest at all our dinner parties. I love it so. Her new "Nocturne" series is just amazing - a darker, richer direction for her. I will pray that next time you can be here. I hope you are hanging in there. I think about you often. XOXO

ReplyDeleteYes! Lovely indeed!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there is a Scandinavian gene? With the name for one of her paintings being "Finlandia". I better go back and read your interview w. her.
