Books: {Turkey} Leanne Kitchen
August 29, 2013
Turkey has been on my radar in recent months.
Some friends are heading there in May
(slight possibility I'll join em, but
holy double college tuitions, Batman!).
with its recipes and tales
by
Leanne Kitchen
sucked me right in.
Homemade Pasta with Arugula, Feta, Walnuts and Herbs
I'm so making this...though I may substitute
my own tried and true, no fail, recipe for the pasta.
Is this flirty pomegranate gel beauty
not a perfect sweet treat
for a girlfriends' night in?
Remember, we're in Turkey.
So that's fairy floss on top,
not cotton candy, dude.
Swordfish Kebabs with Celeriac, Orange and Walnut Salad
You had me at swordfish, Leanne.
Mouth is watering.
Where I live, an uncomplicated all-in-one baked
dish is a casserole (or hot dish if you live further north).
In Turkey, it's a guvec.
Shrimp Guvec
How can shrimp with sweet peppers, tomatoes,
herbs, and feta be anything but scrumptious?
(Chronicle, 2011)
Feelin the southeastern Europe/southwestern Asia
and remember to invite me to your kitchen
or any soiree for that matter,
or any soiree for that matter,
where fairy floss is involved.
Peace to you right where you are.
Peace to you right where you are.

Looks like a good one, we love Turkish food and have a great little place 10 min from here that is almost a weekly stop. If you ever come for a visit....will take you there, I promise!
ReplyDeleteAlways room on my shelf for one more cookbook:)
Happy cooking pretty lady.
Oooh yum. Everything looks divine and I soooo love the term 'fairy floss' :) xxx
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautifully photographed book with wonderful and unusual recipes. Turkey is where the east meets the west, and I'm sure the recipes reflect the diverse cultures and people there. Thanks for the preview, Michele.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

You must go. The food is fabulous. The people are friendly and welcoming. The country is beautiful and romantic beyond belief. I have several posts about my travels to Turkey on my blog if you are interested.

I want every single one of those dishes! The first with the pasta and arugula, oh my goodness gracious. And the pomegranate gel is soooo enticing. I didn't know Turkey was known for it's cuisine...
