DIY: My Dressing Room Stencil Project {royal design studio}
December 05, 2013
In exchange for a stencil from Royal Design Studio,
I am bringing you this promotional post!
After introducing this sweet little dressing room
of mine to you last spring, I knew I would
eventually create a statement wall with
something subtle...something tone-on-tone.
I turned to
Royal Design Studio
after falling in love with their
Royal Design Studio
Isn't it gorgeous in the nursery above?
I do love a professional grade stencil, and you
may recall another French script stencil project
I do love a professional grade stencil, and you
may recall another French script stencil project
of mine with Royal Design.
Ta daaaaaa!
I love the impact of the lacy design,
and it took less than 2 hours
to complete it yesterday.
A couple of my collages mingle with
art, antique French documents,
and vintage jewelry.
Besides the glorious stencil, the only other
supplies I required were a small foam roller
and watered down soft grey latex paint
(Martha Stewart's Sharkey Gray).
I played around adhering different items
to the wall, and guess what I learned?
There isn't anything that doesn't work against
the Fortuny...even my treasured original Lulu DK
watercolor painting with its bold floral works.
The stencil's pattern is reminiscent of the famous Italian
Fortuny silks, and the classically quiet
combination of muted grey on white
evokes a lovely hushed elegance.
This stencil, a myriad of equally lovely ones,
at Royal Design Studio.
Peace to you right where you are.

Michele,
ReplyDeleteI am so SO glad I found your blog! Your dressing room is so lovely! You create the warm and enveloping feeling with your decor, which I love. I am also swooning over the stenciled wall and ghost chair too - they really make the room.
That is one gorgeous wall. I'm making a not for that stencil. Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I bookmarked the stencil for my next painting project
ReplyDeleteGosh it's so pretty and delicate (the stencil wall and the whole room)! I've always wanted to stencil a wall. We've recently moved cities and are in a rental, but when we do (eventually) get our own place, I'll be looking for a wall to stencil-makeover. Bookmarking this for inspiration :)
