Great tips! It's sometimes a challenge to find your way when we get bombarded with so much. Never say never, no faux, and always natural ;)
ReplyDeletei think 'never say never' is the way to go since it keeps things loose and flexible and feels better than 'follow these rules.' thanks for visiting, friend. :)
DeleteAll great advice and most I would agree with, love her designs. My favortie one was mimic the past, don't repeat it. That is why she is the new TRAD and not the old TRADITIONAL. I would add one of my mantras, " Less is more, big is better!" as a guideline, not in cement or a rule. Oh and add a touch of whimsy to every room.
ReplyDeletethanks for adding to the beauty, friend! :)
DeleteHi Michelle, I've always subscribed to Less is More, but I agree with her in don't go faux. A piece of original art in a room adds an energy that you just dont have with a reproduction 🙂
ReplyDeleteless is more for me as well--and definitely in terms of a life code, not just decor. but i love people who embrace 'more is more' because they tend to be vivacious and living abundantly. :)
DeleteI love all of these but especially the one about doing what your mother wouldn't. Mine had so many "rules" like "blue and green should never be seen" that I would have to say I probably don't do ANYTHING my mother did.
ReplyDeletehaha! 'blue and green should never been seen'cracks me up! :)
