Home Decor Inspiration: French Inspired Texas Serenity {Kay O'Toole}
April 05, 2017Home Decor Inspiration: Kay O'Toole Houston Home |
Before we dive into the interior design
inspiration and genius of creative dynamo
Kay O'Toole, an apology.
I totally goofed in that last post
when I swear I was not drunkblogging,
but rather my nerves WERE thoroughly frazzled
and I foolishly relied on Pinterest for
the source credits.
Sad but true for me occasionally as a very human blogger. |
To cut to the chase....
I didn't recognize the inspiring kitchen above
as the very same exquisite one below,
designed by Kay O'Toole
which occupies real estate on
every tasteful pin board on planet earth.
I apologize for the error (attributing it to
Houston designer Eleanor Cummings
and not Ms. O'Toole) and
will strive to do better...because
though I don't take myself overly seriously,
I respect and honor the interior
designers who put their names to
projects we admire online.
Lonny featured Kay O'Toole's incredible
Houston home in 2013, and the images
you are seeing here are from their
"Neutral Territory" article which,
if you think about it, is rather
timely conceptually, given America's
division and political climate at
the moment...what if somehow a
neutral territory emerged (and I am
not suggesting a war or agression
aimed at a group of people!) which
neutralized the negativity and hate
we see hurled back and forth?
NEUTRAL TERRITORY...
a Switzerlandish babystep into peace,
which so often precedes a pouring
out of loving kindness.
That is my wish today and the spirit
in which these words were posted.
And thank you, blogland for
forgiving all the errors and
oopsidaisies I try to avoid. :)
Kay O'Toole's Houston home is based upon a

So elegant and rich and fine,
I hope seeing this dreamy home
inspires your own home decor plans
as you make them a reality.
Peace to you right where you are.

ReplyDeleteme too! you're spot on with 'sanctuary.' xox
DeleteIt is a lovely home, and hey, everyone makes mistakes in crediting because of the popularity of Pinterest. I loved Kay's bookcase styling.
ReplyDeletethanks, friend. nothing like stumbling around for a few days to keep that humility intact! xox
DeleteMistakes happen ~ way to straighten that out (you are so authentic Michele).
ReplyDeleteOkay ... that hood over the oven is incredible and I'm dying over that fireplace and living room! Gorgeous styling and love the symmetry there. I'm not a huge fan of wooden dolls but they work here ;)

DeleteHello from my corner of the world. I love the look of white fabric, I really do. Think it's beautiful, but I know...not even with scotch guard treated furniture I could not pull this look off in my home. It would be dingy looking before the day was out. This is a lovely Houston home and enjoyed viewing your post.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
d
so glad you liked and so glad you're in the world. xox
DeleteLove Kay O'Toole's aesthetic and was so happy to see this post. Have seen her home published in Veranda, but not Lonny. Thank you for new perspectives. You have a beautiful blog - found it through my love of Pam Pierce design and have been following you. So well done and your genuine kindness radiates through. Much deserved success!
ReplyDeletei'm so happy to have you here, Janice! your words just touched my heart. thank you so much. xox
DeleteYour comments add to the beauty...thanks in advance for your kindness.
