Lovely Finds: Hello Lovely STRIPES
October 20, 2011
stripey ceramics - Tine K
Just try to convince me that stripes are trendy.
I won't be hearin' that because I have spent
the better part of my life
MAD FOR STRIPES.
Some of us just
will not grow tired of their magic.
Need convincing?
Red Niddle
Just look how Red Niddle takes a simple ticking
and pairs it with far out lovely to create
these Swedish dala horse softies.
Style at Home
Or what a few lime green stripes
can do to a ho-hum wall.
A Beach Cottage
Sarah of A Beach Cottage (a must read!)
always finds a way to knock me out with
stripes whether it be her wardrobe
or cottage-chic decor.
The 36th Avenue
Here is another blogger that blew me away
with her closet spruce up...
oh, grey stripes, I love you madly.
Penny Marks of Fairy Tale
Do you have a stripey scarf that's your favorite?
I'm thrilled to share mine today--it's a romantic
handmade lovely by Penny Marks of Fairy Tale 13.
Fairy Tale
The navy with white stripe seems to go with everything,
and the knit fabric feels dreamy.
Isa Kay Boutique
Do you have a fever for stripes?
Don't you think these festive retro
straws from Isa Kay Boutique
make an excellent low-cost
prescription?!?
Thought so.
West Elm
These stripey linens from West Elm are
calling my name, and to me they would
work for almost any room scheme...
play up the circus feel
in a kid's room, or for a sophisticated
guest room, limit the palette
to grey and white.
The Twinery
If it weren't for blogland, I would have no idea
how many incredibly creative uses there are for
colorful baker's twine...know what I'm talking about?
Visit The Twinery's blog and you will be
enlightened and geared up for the holidays
when you consider the magic of 100% cotton string.
Penny Marks
(Forgot to include this one from Penny
as well as it is a head turner.)
Komoriuta
Found any cute handmade plush animals lately?
Well this pink striped cutie is mine all mine
from the fabulous Komoriuta.
The little felt ears and nose
will trigger that "i'm mellllllttttting"
response.
So it's like this.
For years I have swooned for stripes,
and if they happen to be particularly trendy
at the moment, great...but I think they have
lasting value because of their simplicity
and contrast.
Any stripey goodness here that floats your boat?
And you have entered my fabulous giveaway, yes?
Peace to you right where you are.

ReplyDeleteVery sweet of you!
Well, another similarity with you I guess. I'm gung-ho for stripes. My fav stripe colors are navy and white, red and white (ya, i know, little too Christmas-y) and white and gray / pink and gray. (ya, pink :P)
ReplyDeleteI really want to venture a little more into stripes now: a venture that will go a bit beyond my wardrobe. And having said that, I think you've already guessed my Christmas theme!
Cheers!

On a side note, the LinkWithin widget in this post has taken me back to your fairy lights post, and it has reminded me to go and buy some today... they do wonders for warding off the dark+cold blues.
Hugs hugs!

ALL of that stripey goodness floats my boat. I love Sarah at BC too...and the image of The 36th Avenue. I'll be adding stripes to my bath soon. Own the twine from the twinery & just ordered those light gray paper straws two days ago (from Etsy)! Too coincidental. Beautiful stripey post! Thanks for sharing with my party.
ReplyDeletexo,
Jami
