Books: Provence & Secrets {Segreto}

May 30, 2012

Allow me to share one of the many
reasons I adore interior design:
there is within this field a universal loveliness
which transcends language and culture...

Oui?
*speaking with hands now*
Capisce?

Case in point.
Segreto Finishes,
a design firm headed by
Leslie Sinclair
is named for her husband's
Italian family name Segreto,
which means 'secret.'

Ooooooh, I love un segreto!

Here is a peek at some secret finishes
executed in a breathtaking Provence-inspired
home featured in the new book.
Sarah West ~ architectual consultant
Architectural Solutions, Inc ~ architect
Richard Price Custom Homes ~ builder

 Plaster and reclaimed architectural finishes
weave rooms together harmoniously...
and can you imagine the secrets these
old pieces could tell?????

Leslie owns an art gallery and is inspired
by all aspects of artistic painting, in fact,
nowwwwwww,
she can say she wrote the book.

A big gorgeous book of secrets.

(I love this kitchen like a fat girl loves cake.)
It was that iced white beauty lounging lustfully under that cloche
in a few images above that made me say it.

Segreto: Secrets to Finishing Beautiful Interiors
is full of spaces with visual inspiration, warmth, character, and depth.

The plaster! The floors! The essence of Provence!
Isn't it romantic?

Peace to you right where you are.

  2. I adore the tranquility
    of these beautiful spaces!
    Our first floor has plastered
    walls and they have held
up well for over 16 years....
    Well, with the exception
of a few chips where my
    {not so little anymore} man's
    Tonka trucks used to crash
into the walls : ) The windows
    are amazing in these pics....
and the kitchen ~ be still
    my heart!

    Happy Wednesday, lovely
    friend!!

  14. So romantic. That kitchen is indeed, dare I say it, better than cake. I love seeing reclaimed materials being used in projects - there's so much beauty in the past, I love to see it carry on into the future even if it is in pieces. Bella, Bella!

  18. Bellissimo!

    Very lovely and very you!

Let's not move from Swedish to Italian though (but do you know I speak both?). You were doing so well with your Swedish!

Segreto in Italian = "hemlighet" in Swedish.

    So there.

    Love to you my friend.
