Classic Decor Inspiration: Babb Randolph Townhouse
February 12, 2017Classic Décor Inspiration by Frank Babb Randolph |
Inspired by Thomas Jefferson and Monticello
his entire life, famed Washington D.C. designer
Frank Babb Randolph
partnered with architect Christian Zapatka and
Mr. Jefferson's diaries, drawings, and lifestyle
when he designed his Georgetown townhouse.
My thoughts first turned to Loi of Tone on Tone
when I glimpsed this townhouse, and of course,
there are pieces here sourced from
Loi's beautiful shop.
Then my thoughts went to a personal friend
of mine...the gorgeous and talented interior designer
Lesley Killoren,
who left her body recently after a valiantly
fought health battle.
Lesley would have adored this townhouse,
and I know we would have dished about it
since she loved Monticello,
and her own home reflects its influence.
I am still grieving the loss of my beloved girlfriend
who introduced me to everyone including
wait staff as "my blogger" (we met for lunch
weekly for years and attended Bible studies
together) and who even shared one of her
residential design projects with us right here.
(That home she decorated is an equestrian property
located very near to our home.)
Lesley's daughter Kelly Killoren Bensimon
is an author, model, and former
Real Housewives of New York
cast member with a chic sense of style.
I profiled her homes because I loved her
Hamptons home with its mix of
French farmhouse and modern
(that one of a kind antique crystal
chandelier with real candles!)
Back to Randolph!
You know his work. You do.
Because every single one of you
has pinned one of his kitchens.
(pin again! pin again!)

Gorgeous still with its timelessness and classic good looks.
