Paris & Stockholm Prints {Lovely Finds}
February 19, 2017
As you know, we are: just about done
with the Chicagoland fixer upper and
in the process of making over an Arizona getaway.
Our design direction in Arizona is
Euro-Serene-Cottage, and one of the
more pleasant tasks there is choosing
art and accessories since we're starting
from scratch with furniture and decor.
Just before my last trip to
the Arizona Fixer Upper,
Minted invited me
to choose art prints, and I became
lost in lovely on their site,
discovering beautiful framed

Days in Paris by photographer Jessica Nugent, in the
24x18 size and float-mounted, wherein the art
work floats on museum grade 100% cotton matte
board, in a simple white frame with
standard plexi, and the artist's signature.

I also chose Narrow Streets of Open Gamla Stan
by Bethania Lima, in the 18x24 size, framed, and with
the artist's signature...this digitally enhanced photography
print features the Old Town part of Stockholm, Sweden.
Here's a photo from a travel site of Gamla Stan at night.

And artist Bethania has digitally enhanced
her photo for the print I chose.

Aren't the colors beautiful?
(This post contains affiliate links and it won't cost you more,
but I will earn a few pennies if you purchase from Minted!)
My new HP laptop is light as a feather and features a touchscreen |
Here are 3 of my favorite things about the framed prints:
- They're super light with the standard plexi, making them easy to hang by yourself.
- The float mount feature on my Paris print is unique and looks even better in person!
- Minted takes all the guesswork out of online print shopping by providing photos to show scale and what the print looks like unframed...notice this next photo included in the print's description:

Since we need art for the whole place, I
wasn't sure where I would hang the pieces and
carried them room to room to get a better idea.
Main Bath at the Arizona Fixer Upper |
It looks great in this main bath, but I wasn't sold.

For the time being, we have a small farmhouse bench
across from the bed in the master bedroom where we
will eventually put a dresser when we find one,
and I thought the colors of the art looked great in here.

It's not the right sized art for this niche near the entry,
but I tried it against the Behr Classic Silver paint color
to note the contrast.

Art prints from Minted on my piano |
I was planning on keeping this guestroom/music room minimal
but seeing the quiet colors of the prints has inspired me to create
a gallery wall on this wall with the piano.
This piano did not start life looking like this...stay tuned! (Get it?) |
Paris and Stockholm in the desert, anyone? |
So the fun of choosing art has only just begun!
These Art Prints
will be hung on the wall, and I
am collecting more pretties to join them...
since artist Loretta Lux is a favorite of mine,
some of her surreal pretend portraits may
join Paris and Stockholm lovelies since
the palette is so harmonious.
I'd also love to incorporate some of
my own photography from Paris.
Can I tell you how much more fun considering
art is than being knee high in tile grout?
A big thank you to my sister Jo for
her styling and snapping help!

DeleteDear Michele,
ReplyDeleteI am very happy that you liked my take on Gamla Stan and chose that print to decorate your home and appear in this post. Stockholm is a city that was always in my wish list, even before I became a design. Going there was a dream coming true and I wish to go back and get to know more cities in Scandinavia as soon as possible. Well, Paris is also lovely, of course! Best regards!
Thanks for stopping by, Bethania! Thank you for creating such lovely art--I'm so glad you took that trip to Stockholm and would love to visit someday. xox
ReplyDeleteYour comments add to the beauty...thanks in advance for your kindness.
