Blogland can be dangerous.
Just one fabulous image
from someone else's blog
can trigger an obsession.
I recently swooned over
A Beach Cottage's
gorgeous tutorial for limoncello.
(Beautiful painting above by Gordon Haas.)
I have never tasted limoncello.
This seemed reason enough to go for it.
So began my first attempt at making
the homemade Italian liqueur.
I found these HUGE organic babies.
Then stripped them naked.
I juiced the lemons to make lemonade.
The peels were transferred to a big jar
and covered with vodka
where they hung out for a week.
Then a simple syrup
was added to the strained vodka.
Now we must wait 10 days to 6 months.
iiiiiiiiii knnnnnoooowwwww.
snapped this the other day of the lightweight on her birthday
When the limoncello is ready,
I'll share some with this girl...
my partner in crime,
my fellow lightweight
who gets tipsy from half a sip.
Our summer drink for the last decade has
been amaretto lemonade,
but maybe it will become limoncello.
Which I am told it is to be
slowly SIPPED.
A custom label for the bottles
would be cool, yes?
Chez Beeber Bebe
This one is super cute.
Who knew there were all sorts of nifty
labels in blogland we are invited to duplicate?
member of the Cullen clan?
So now we wait for the liqueur.
This is me trying to wait with style.
I'll let you know how it tastes,
and feel free to stop by in a
few weeks for a shot.
Bonus transcript which has nothing to to with limoncello:
Husband: This is your white vampire look.
Me: Ooh, I like white vampire. I like it. I like it.
Husband: See, I'm your muse.
Like limoncello?
