Before and After: Home Renovation by Solis Betancourt & Sherrill

Prepare your eyes for a most luxurious
renovation inspiration, before and after
interior design project by Solis Betancourt
and Sherrill!

The transition at the White House
has put Washington D.C. on Hello Lovely's
radar with yesterday's $22 million pad,
the Obama's new digs, and this ooh lala
renovation by Solis Betancourt today.

Here's the thing about geeking out
about interior design like a freak...
when you see images of a beautiful project,
it may actually get timestamped on your memory
forever so you like never forget
where and when you saw it, what you
were feeling, wearing, and eating.
Neurotic but True.

When I glimpsed this Washington D.C.
renovation and interior design
by Solís Betancourt and Sherrill
in Architectural Digest one afternoon while
waiting at a car dealership, there wasn't
another soul in the lobby to tap on the shoulder
and point out the polished plaster ceiling
you see in the living room above!

Here's the BEFORE of that living room.

It's a thing of beauty, that ceiling!
I mean, it's not as if you can immediately
post every dang designgasmic moment
to Facebook or IG with enthusiasm:

"BUT THAT CEILING! Solis Betancourt & Sherill! AD!"

without feeling awfully...

Or can you?
If you go ahead with yer random self,

Ya know?
Um...as if girlfriend doesn't post enough photos!!!

Solís Betancourt and Sherrill, oh for corn sake,
they butter my biscuit like nobody's business.
You may want to check out another ditty
about them here with images like this:

in a magazine, and I continue to return
to it time and time again.

Say what you will about
...oh there's too much refinement for me
or
...but who could live like that
or
...i couldn't possibly live with all that white,
but, kids, different strokes for different folks.

Thank God we don't all live in identical abodes.
Thank God there's all this diversity and color.
Thank God there are no design police.
(But wouldn't it be cool if there WERE officers in chartreuse

and you could be arrested for possession of too much toile
or sent to rehab for shiplapping under the influence?)

Ignore everything I say.
I am probably not tipsy from a birthday cocktail.
(Yep, it's my birthday today.)
I am old and extremely okay with it right now.
(Tomorrow is another story.)
(May I blog parenthetically permanently?)
(It just feels nice.)

Peace to you right where you are.
