Hello Lovely

B e l l a   L u n a
was my constant companion
for nearly 14 years, and our hearts
are now broken and mournful
without her joy and love.

She passed away this week.

Catch us in happier times right here.

I'm sure at some point I will not
feel this raw and cracked open.

She is gone. Yet she will never be gone.

This is the sweet paradox I hold now
in place of her silky form...

Peace to us right where we are.

Hello Lovely is 4!
Feels like yesterday when I was blog-less and
obsessed with macarons, cupcake and fashion blogs.

I never imagined a vast bloguniverse of
designfreaky creative friends were waiting
to be discovered or that I'd join them.

 (In honor of the occasion, you'll find the blog's first video
at the end of this post.)




So grateful for your loyalty as you tune in to cheer on
lovely interiors, art, design, inspiration, and whimsy.



In honor of Hello Lovely's birthday,
I called upon my furry assistant
to dance happily with me, just as I am:

Waify and broken
(yet strangely fabulous),
without a weave
(Half my hair has departed due to BRCA stuff.),
self-conscious
(This over the hill mom was thinkin the whole time 'don't dance too provocatively.'
Don't let a wardrobe malfunction expose scars from June you don't want exposed.
Dude, keep it PG-13.),
soulful
(Fine. It's cotton candy.),
and
weird
(but nice).



Four years!
Bless you, ye crazy kids who visit seeking
peace, wonder, white rooms, and occasional
luxury hotel snobbery...you all add to the beauty.

This is for you, kittycats.
