Personal Reflections: My Beachy Palette
July 24, 2011
A mini mood board I assembled
the other day as I daydreamed
about decor plans for the living room.
The palette is inspired primarily
by a Meredith Pardue abstract
(her color sense is yummychic)
as well as an atmospheric
Sargent and glorious neutrals
(sand, putty, aqua, french grey,
quiet gold, black, and a little turquoise).
The
subdued
faded
worn
colors
whisper
lovely...
all photos mine
Those whispers matter, don't you think?
Because the unlovely has a way of grabbing our attention.
Human frailty
guarantees
life will be more than just
beer and skittles,
fabulous chandeliers,
and walks on the beach...
Mannnnnn, I do resent that about human frailty.
I'm a visual and sensual person
with a wild imagination.
The colors in my palette
have a sedative effect,
impart balance,
and ignite
hope.
And hope never disappoints.
Ever assembled a mood board yourself?
Peace to you right where you are.

ReplyDeleteOh, sweetie...
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful soul. Honestly, I see its beauty through your art.
I'm sorry I didn't visit you last week. I had to take a break. My belly is pretty big now and staying hour in front of the computer isn't making me any good. But I missed you!
Have a great week!

Perfect beachy colours; what a great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI have never made a mood board, I just go full steam ahead when the mood takes hold! Must learn to do this...less drastic, but still beautiful to gaze at.

ReplyDeleteHappy Monday! Angela and Renee
Those are great colors!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love the colors, so soft and peaceful and I love your words. Life is so fragile and hopefully there are more beer and skittles than not.
ReplyDeleteAlways love visiting you my dear.

You are such a creative person love your mood board and your colors. I've put together such items but not for decorating more for what pleases and interests me. I always have a pile of stuff on my desk laid out that grabs my eye in this manner.
ReplyDeleteI do believe
ReplyDeletethis mood board
could be hung
up as a piece of
art....one that
brings back memories
of all that you
love and inspires
you to create even
more beautiful things.
Love it.

Ahh beautiful beachiness... your mood board is stunningly serene and soothing, my lovely, and making me crave an escape from the daily stresses, feeling a bit frazzled from months of constant hecticness.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy the visual escapes you provide here.
