Joseph Dirand has created a most unforgettable
palatial Paris apartment.

This cloud of perfection shelters very fine things.

And I'm much too unqualified and uncredentialed.
to speak of the things with commentary.
Too beyond bourgeois to label the palace's
creation 'decor inspiration.'
After all, it has been deemed by some
"possibly the most family-unfriendly home ever."

Still.

Who can blame a curious renegade for
visually feasting a little at the banquet table of 
Joseph Dirand sustenance on Avenue Montaigne?

Here's an intriguing fact I learned about
the project, and if you are a designer, prepare
to grow green with envy.

The client's wish for the designer
(Joseph Dirand) was...get this:
to make his own design wishes come true.
So if it pleased Dirand? Green light.
I'm not even joking.

Before I utter another peep,
we'll need to slip these on:

Welcome to French Fantasyland. 

The home?
Two combined apartments in an
early 19th century Haussmannian building
on the Avenue Montaigne in Paris

More particulars?
6,500 square feet
11 foot double doors
An interior design renovation which
took 2 years to complete.

Who lives here?
No one.
The owner is an heiress to an Eastern European
fortune who has only visited her property once.

The art collection?
On Kawara date painting over a desk
Moody triptych by Hiroshi Sugimoto
Oils by the Greek Arte Povera master Jannis Kounellis
A pair of polished bronze orbs by Lucio Fontana
Several pieces by François‑Xavier Lalanne,
including a life-size sheep made into a writing desk
in one of the living rooms.
A small, exquisite LeWitt cube construction
(seemingly in conversation with a delicate Lalanne bird
perched on a leather-covered writing desk.)
