Personal Reflections: Modern love, Vulnerability & Hormones

February 23, 2012

I have been painting again.
Walls and canvases.
Slow going though since my health
aint been the greatest, but ya know
vulnerability can be powerful.
For artists and non-artists.

It's true.
Vulnerability is the new self-esteem.

Oh yeah, I was gonna share
some cool modern art I'm crushing on.

I apologize for not remembering to document
the name of the artist(s)...I blame hormones.
I find these happy masterpieces uplifting.

Omg, lookie lookie.
The 'grocery store' letter stencils
I have used on so many projects showed up
on the above beauty.

Picked up a paintbrush lately?
It really has been good therapy
in addition to tightening my triceps.
BTW.
I first typed 'triceratops,' and it actually
looked right for a second.

You already know what I blame.

Peace to you right where you are.

  2. Love the artwork - especially the polka dots and the stripes. So bright and wonderful!

Check out my latest post, it's about my latest paintings. I don't know about you, but my paintings never work out well unless I'm happy when I start painting.

Hope you feel more cheery soon!

  3. i am always happier with a paintbrush in hand, but nope, anne. sometimes sadness is the starting point for a piece.

was this post a total downer? i hope not! my health has always had its ups and downs, and i am so grateful for every single day.

  5. The artwork looks a lot better then what I've been painting lately....I've painted a door black. Sorry about the hormones and I'm in the same boat. Ya just have to learn to roll with the punches I guess and it does make life interesting.

    Happy Friday!

  6. These are some cool modern art pieces! I want to do something like this someday, in colors i like, but it's HARD to paint abstract paintings! Alot harder than one might think. I'm so glad to hear you have a paintbrush in your hand, it IS good therapy...

I decided I would do a romantic painting for a friend's wedding present, and I only have one more month to go before her big day, so hoping to pick up a paintbrush very soon!

    Lots of love to you!
