Books: JEAN-LOUP DARAUX: by the light of the sea

June 24, 2011

Do you know this sculptor/painter/rhymer/designer?

We are invited into the contemplative, spirited
world of

j e a n - l o u p   d a r a u x

in one of my favorite picture books of all time:
(Verbo Volant)
(By the Light of the Sea).

Breathtaking photography by Mario Ciampi
captures the elegance of French interior design.

Daraux's work reveals the beauty of
"...homes which all have one thing in common,
a mixture of aspiration, pleasure and savoir-faire."

Falling for Daraux's touch yet?

Some sneak peeks inside this
incredible volume will follow,
but honestly they pale in comparison
to the rich, luxe, and seductive pages.

Last night, my very busy husband
began skimming the lovely
By the Light of the Sea,
sighing and echoing precisely
what occurred to me
when first I glimpsed it:

"I want TIME. Time with this book!"

Aspiration.
Pleasure.
Savoir-faire.
Plus
two hundred forty-one
lusciously lovely
illutrations.

Yum.

Peace to you right where you are.
