Lesley Killoren {hometown hero}
September 20, 2012
Sometimes things just click with kindred spirits, right?
While swimming in the pool above,
I made a new friend
who is an interior designer with
charming taste and a personality to match.
photos - hello lovely
Lesley (of Designs by Lesley in Rockford, Illinois)
was gracious enough to take me on a tour of interiors
she designed at an equestrian property.
And how adorable is she?
Both Lesley and the homeowners enjoy
traditional style, architecture, travel,
interesting hand applied wall finishes,
and art collected around the globe.
Some of Lesley's favorite sources
reside at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.
This handsome den has the warmest glow,
where the designer helped the owners choose
art and furnishings.
Killoren has been beautifying commercial
and residential spaces for more than 20 years,
and she has a special gift for bringing joy
and enthusiasm to each project.
My camera did not adequately capture the beauty
of the metallic finishes--this one boasts an aged
coppery appearance.
One of my favorite rooms...
a bedroom with angled walls of windows.
And my favorite space!
An incredible solarium with comfortable
furnishings upholstered in silk.
So perfect for bird watching.
Not fancy or 'done', simply a cozy retreat to connect with nature.
Eyecandy was everywhere in the home,
and the creatively gifted homeowner even
allowed us a peek at her workspace.
A lovely detail in the office.
So happy to introduce you to a talented
hometown hero whom I call friend.
Thank you, Lesley!
(And a hearty thank-you to the homeowners
who love their privacy, yet trusted a
tiny blonde woman to gush and snap!)

ReplyDeleteso many personal details from travel and eclectic interests. lesley is so good at collaborating so spaces have the homeowner's signature, not her own.
