Before we begin a tour of unbelievably
gorgeous interiors by Piet Boon with
modern decor and modern design...
It was so fun sharing my DIY
master bedroom of the fixer upper with you!
Can you believe that whole expanse of wall
(16.5 feet wide) took us only 3 hours to plank
with the reclaimed wood (no nailgun, baby!)?

Is it dramatic? Is it a statement wall?
Is it an accent wall?
A subjective matter, I suppose, since the plank
we chose (Hamptons) has a subtle color and
texture, yet scored big impact to the room.
Maybe we should term it "subtle drama."
Enough of my farmhouse bourgeois boudoir.
Let's talk high design and get inspired.

and before we peek at the collection
inspired by the Shakers, let's

designs (mostly residential projects)
to truly appreciate the integrity
inherent in all the studio creates, which is...
Bespoke total design concepts.
Their contemporary furnishings
are crafted from only the best and most exquisite
materials put into the hands of quality craftspeople.
It isn't simply the sophisticated, spare, and peaceful
vibe of Piet Boon creations which inspires me...
it's the incredible work and style ethics
beneath the products and design which
seem to possess an artful purity
so often absent from other designers.
Why pay them this tribute
and frequently spotlight their work
when I am not on the payroll?
I want always to do my part
with the sphere of influence available,
to leverage the role of the artist and designer
in today's fast-moving, technologically evolving
society and culture which so often neglects
the artist, the imagination of the designer,
and the value of creative genius.
If you are a maker, then you get it.
If you love beautiful design, you probably understand.
And if art has ever healed you, then I bet you agree.
Our hearts, minds, and bodies need fine art.
