Modern Mountain Style by Studio McGee
January 20, 2017I stumbled on this modern mountain style interior design
project by Studio McGee and found it so beautiful with
its spare, chic, unfussy, youthful, warm vibe
and neutral color palette.
The warmth comes from
stone
hardwood flooring
caramel tones
and
rustic details.
With the discussion we were having the
other day about whether or not to hide
the TV in the living room (and options for
concealing it), I notice that this television
is recessed into the stone wall and does not
jump out since there is a balance of black
in so many other elements of the room.
I love the use of this chambray shade of blue
for the arm chairs...so beautiful with the honey/caramel
tones elsewhere and reminiscent of a lovely sky,
doncha think?
And the giant island with all that seating!
I can imagine how wonderful it is for
entertaining.
Bring on the modern mountain style!

Dreamy mud room by Studio McGee |
My baby sister recently re-designed their
powder room with shiplap walls painted
a dreamy serene shade of ocean blue,
and seeing it painted black
is awfully inspiring when you notice
how it makes the art work pop!
How gorgeous is this bathroom!?!

Oh my goodness.... doesn't this remind you of the latest Fixer Upper episode? Black shiplap, the fireplace material, black windows, open shelving, light colored wood... wonder which came first.....
ReplyDeletei didn't see the latest episode, but people have been painting their shiplap forever so i doubt it had any bearing. such great texture and contrast.
