If you appreciate beautiful, bespoke
modern decor inspiration, you're in for a treat!
collection in Cologne at the interior design fair (IMM) that
plays with contrasts, including the feminine and the masculine.
Consistent with the Salone del Mobile fair in Milan (2016),
Piet Boon presented
innovative shapes,
innovative combinations,
and innovative use of materials.
The collection plays with proportions, contrasts, color variations, and textures in both execution and presentation.
Piet Boon calls the collection "renewed" as it is
a new translation of the studio’s easily recognizable
creative signature.
Inspired by the balance between masculinity and femininity,
this collection focuses on apparent contradictions.
Organic rounded shapes contrast starkly
with understated and sober constructions.
In addition to the
BO sofa,
RAAF table and coffee table
and KEKKE mirrors,
Piet Boon studio introduced two additional
novelties at the international interiors show,
the BO armchair and slender LARS outdoor dining series.
The new furniture items reflect the studio’s effort in pushing boundaries of its own creative signature.
In line with the studio’s philosophy of functionality, aesthetics and individuality, this year’s IMM collection is richer in simplicity.
Adding new shapes and dimensions to the collection is
the brand's response to various needs.
With its strong organic interplay of lines, both the BO sofa and armchair arose from the need to create a sofa that could adapt to various social settings.
The BO can be placed in both an open and a closed set up.
As a counterpart for the round BO Sofa and an addition to the current dining series, the studio introduced the bold wooden RAAF series consisting of a generous dining and coffee table.
Drawing inspiration from the renowned traditional craftsmanship of the austere “Shakers” community, the whole series reflects the studio’s carpenters roots and keen eye for proportions.
Thoughtful combinations of various earth tones
make up this year’s IMM rich color palette.
In line with the color scheme, glass art by German artist
Alexa Lixfeld and various styling accessories
strengthen the Studio Piet Boon experience.
