Decor Inspiration: Luxury Real Estate in Washington
January 22, 2017Decor Inspiration: Luxury Real Estate in Washington |
Before we dive into the details of this
exquisite real estate
property in DC with decor inspiration and
interior finishes to make your lovely
head spin and your heart break, allow me to confess.
I have been disciplining myself as a blogger and poster
of lovely tidings to post every day, and though
I just shared 64 gorgeous designs from Eleanor Cummings,
here I go again posting a second time today!
What can I say?
What's with all these posts with a trillion
pretty images of interior design?
After all, sometimes less is more, oui?
Is it like a Kardashian selfie disease thing?
I think sometimes more is more
(especially when lovely can be in short
supply in other realms of daily life),
and maybe I am finding my blogging rhthym.
A social psychology answer to why would
probably include something about a
need for order and control when the
climate is distressing or chaotic.
But things are perfectly calm in our
culture and country right now, oui?
I have problems... |
Another confession.
My family knows I do this weird thing when we're in the car,
and I get anxious (whether it's my husband's racecar driving or I spot a deer we're about to send to heaven) and can't form
English words yet need to caution everyone in the car.
That nonsense babble sounds something like:
CHADACHADACHADA...
HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS!!!!!
Um. Too late. |
I'm not proud of the crude expressions escaping
me in distress, yet if I'm honest, it is my unique
flavor of profanity when the adrenaline spikes,
we seem destined to meet our maker,
or it's critical I warn every earthling in earshot to
brace themselves (or apply the brakes!).
(I want to change. No one in their right mind
wants 'butts' to be their last dying word.)
I swear I'm getting to the point. Stick with me.
So when I saw the real estate listing for this Washington D.C.
property pop up online, my reaction was on a level of
high CHADACHADACHADA alert.
Here is what I learned from the real estate listing (Sotheby's)
for the property for sale at 3030 Chain Bridge Road NW,
Washington D.C.:
It is a five part regency styled
stucco home and a collaboration between
Jones Boer Architects, Banks Development,
and Arentz Landscape Architects.
Modeled after early 18th century English precedents
by such renowned architects as Sir John Nash,
the new 13,500 square foot house is a careful study
in symmetry, balance, and proportion.
Finely detailed, load bearing Indiana limestone porches
and accent details give the home a stately charm
and presence on the street.
Oh, yeah.
And it is listed for $22 million.
Yep. The most expensive home in D.C.
The interior spaces feature hand carved stone mantels,
custom millwork trim, cabinetry and details ensuring the vocabulary of the exterior flows through to the
interior to create a seamless elegant experience
that is timeless in style.
Rarely if ever will one find a home constructed
and designed with unparalleled materials and workmanship
as this masterpiece.
Extraordinary landscaping, pool and separate pool house complement this stunning property.
Before we take the dream tour of this
luxury real estate out of this world property,
let's review some of its particulars:

Please please please, if you decide to
buy this property, give me a holla and
maybe invite me to brunch.
Because touring the interiors of this luxury
mansion would tingle my jingles, yo.
Ready to see it?
My thought is, today we tour it in its
spare state, allowing our imaginations to
decorate the place (without regard for budget)
with our personal signatures, and then maybe
we'll return to it in a future post and review.
Onward then.
