Celebrity Homes: Dr. Dre, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's $40 Million Chateau

No, they are not filming the reality TV
equivalent of "Three's Company," but
would that be a great premise for Bravo
or what???
You may remember seeing the L.A. European
chateau Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen
built a few years back when it appeared
in Architectural Digest...usually when I see
these features, it's a cue the property is about
to sell, and that's exactly what happened.
If you followed this genetically superior couple's
real estate journey, you may recall that
the impressive European style mansion in Brentwood
they built boasted:
14,000 square feet
Moat
8 bedrooms
6-car garage
Lagoon shaped swimming pool
Weight room
Wine cellar
and stunning architecture
Then, three years ago (and 6 months after
the feature in Architectural Digest),
they listed the real estate for $50 million
and sold it quickly to hip hop mogul
Dr. Dre for $40 million.
Dr. Dre is possibly the wealthiest hip hop artist
(given that Apple paid him more than $3 billion
to acquire Beats) and could easily afford this
beautiful L.A. real estate.
You would think that after building your dream
home (it was built by Richard Landry)
for at least $20 million for your
family and extended family, you
would hang on to it forever...
but the couple moved to Massachusetts
and built a new property.
What changes has Dr. Dre made to the chateau?
I haven't uncovered images yet.
According to Curbed.com,
"Not content with just the 'double-height, wood-paneled library,' reclaimed-cobblestone motor court next to a 'koi-stocked moat,' and 'rock-scaped pool with a waterfall and diving rock,' as AD once listed, Dr. Dre is building a 10,000-square-foot music studio underneath the chateau.
Because the only thing more beautiful than a
14,000 square foot European chateau is a
chateau with a mega recording studio with
megastars coming and going, yes?
Think Dr. Dre would welcome me and my pointe shoes
into the studio to jam if I baked him my
special sourdough cinnamon bread?
Because while I would be happy to
sing in that studio, I would be stoked von stoked
to tour the rest of this palace...let's take a tour.

I can't imagine how long
construction took or how it would feel
to leave such paradise to begin
building again!

Oh, my! How beautiful! Good for Dr. Dre selling Beats for all that money! I didn't know that and I'm a big rap fan. Thanks for that tidbit of knowledge along with the regal beauty of that home! I could live outside by that pool quite comfortably! Lol
